About the role

Join Chubb and help drive the growth of our Environmental insurance portfolio in Iberia. As an Environmental Underwriter, you’ll work directly with brokers and clients, deliver underwriting excellence, and contribute your expertise to our dynamic team. This role is reporting to the Environmental Manager, Southern Europe.

Responsibilities

  • New Business Growth: Develop and maintain broker/client relationships, Assess and underwrite new business in line with Chubb guidelines, Collaborate with Sales & Distribution to maximize opportunities, especially in Barcelona and northern Iberia, Support cross-selling with other business lines, Manage pipeline (SQB)
  • Renewals: Manage your renewal portfolio, ensuring timely issuance and strong retention, Identify opportunities to transition business to digital platforms
  • Broker Engagement & Market Development: Build strong broker relationships through meetings and training, Promote Chubb’s Environmental products, Represent Chubb professionally to brokers, clients, and colleagues
  • Operational Excellence & Compliance: Ensure all underwriting meets Chubb’s standards and regulatory requirements, Company Representation: Act as a positive ambassador for Chubb, upholding our values in every interaction, Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with Claims, Operations, Finance, and other teams to support business success

Requirements

  • 4–5 years’ experience in the insurance sector, ideally in Environmental or Specialty lines
  • Proven track record in the Iberian insurance market
  • Experience in a multinational environment
  • Strong relationship management skills with brokers and clients
  • Confident communicator, able to deliver presentations and demonstrate commercial acumen
  • Results-driven, proactive, and able to work independently
  • Strategic mindset for identifying opportunities and optimizing portfolios
  • Client-focused and business-oriented
  • Comfortable in a dynamic, multicultural environment
  • Positive, “can-do” attitude and strong team player
